Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole
Tacky American cuisine at its best. Not much of a sales pitch, sure, but we both know this’ll be one heck of a comfort food that your entire family will love!
1 pound ground beef
1 med. Onion, chopped
½ cup (2 packets) Big Ol’ Burger Dip Mix (divided)
10.75 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
½ cup milk
½ bag of frozen tater tots (about 1 pound)
¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese
~ In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is cooked through, making sure to break up the beef into small pieces. Drain off excess fat. Stir half the dip mix into the meat and onions and then spread evenly into a 2-quart casserole dish.
~ Whisk together soup and milk. Pour soup mixture evenly over the beef mixture.
~ Dump the tater tots into a gallon-size zip-top bag. Pour remaining dip mix into the bag. Blow into the bag to inflate and then quickly seal the bag shut. Shake to coat tots with the dip mix. Spread the tater tots evenly over the beef mixture in the casserole dish.
~ Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the tots.
~ Bake the casserole in a 350 degree oven for 30-40 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
